  • College Governors

    Voluntary Position (Casual Hours)

    Loughborough College is seeking to expand our Board of Governors with a number of new posts. College Governors are appointed as independent members of the College’s Corporation Board. The role of the Corporation is to agree and oversee the strategic direction of the College and to support the College in providing a high quality and effective learning experience for all who attend the College.

     

    We are specifically seeking to strengthen the team with candidates who have expertise in:

     

    • Safeguarding and PREVENT in Further Education or with young adults

     

    • Further Education quality and curriculum provision

     

    Candidates must be committed to the College’s vision and have the ability to work in a team to make collective decisions. Previous experience as a governor or trustee, or in working at a senior level in a related field, would be an advantage.

     

    Volunteering as a Governor is a great way to contribute to your local community, meet new people and improve the lives of the local community. You will develop transferable skills whilst putting existing skills and experience to good use. A programme of training and development for governors is provided. The Board is keen to promote diversity of its membership across all protected characteristics.

  • Lecturer in Business Studies

    £23.94 per hour (Casual Hours)

    We have an exciting opportunity for an engaging, innovative and dynamic Lecturer to teach across our BTEC Business courses to our full time business students. You will teach and assess across units to our learners and when required cover lessons.

    The successful candidate will deliver inspiring teaching and learning to ensure all students are supported to succeed through the delivery of high quality and challenging learning experiences. Progress will be monitored to ensure target grades are met and all learners achieve to the best of their ability.

    Experience in an appropriate vocational industry setting or background is essential, as is a relevant degree or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and work effectively in a large cross-curricular team. You will possess excellent planning and administration skills and be able to work to deadlines. A knowledge of a range of teaching methodologies is essential. We welcome and look forward to receiving applications from those with experience in the area and from those who are new to teaching but show the drive and passion to succeed.
