  • Security Officer

    £18,322 per annum, plus call out supplement (Permanent - Full Time)

    Are you an experienced Security Officer? Do you want more structured hours?

    The Leicestershire College are looking for an experienced Security Officer to join the Estates team in providing a flexible, efficient and effective security service for the property at all times.

    This is a great opportunity for individuals, to work 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. The shifts are 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm and are rotated between the team. Whilst your main days of work will be Monday-Friday, you will be required to work an occasional Sunday on a rota, and the hours for this will be 8am-4pm. Where you work a Sunday, you will have Friday and Saturday as your rest days for that week.

     Key responsibilities include regular surveillance patrols across the College campus, being a point of contact for learners, colleagues and visitors and providing a customer focused presence on site. The Security team also operates a rota for holding the on call phone. (Call outs will be supplemented in your salary.)

    To be considered for the role, you will have experience of providing security and/or locking down buildings on a large site. You will be able to demonstrate a professional approach and the ability to work on your own initiative. Applicants must hold an SIA license and possess or be willing to work towards a recognised First Aid Qualification.

    Are you responsible, able to work on your own, flexible, fair, reliable and trustworthy?  Do you have experience of working with young people?  You could be just the person we are looking for!

    We are recruiting an enthusiastic team of Accommodation Wardens to provide welfare, safety and practical support to students aged 16 and over in our 224 bed halls of residence and host family accommodation. The role will involve liaison with student residents, responsibility for security, safety, wellbeing and organisation of events.

    We have 2 part time casual vacancies available.

    Applicants must be over 18 years of age, have qualifications in Maths and English levels 4-9 (GCSE grades A-C) or equivalent and will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check (successful applicants will complete this with the HR team) and participate in induction training prior to shift allocation. Please note that no accommodation is provided with this role.

    We are looking for experienced Trainer Assessors with relevant up to date industry experience and qualifications to work with Apprentices who are employed across the East Midlands area. We require Trainer Assessors who can make an immediate contribution to the team, as well as deliver a high level of service and support to our apprentices and their employers.

    To be successful for this role you will have a relevant vocational qualification at level 3 or above and an assessor qualification. You should have experience of delivering training sessions to individuals or groups of learners and organising regular visits to assess apprentices. You will also carry out progress reviews in the work place, involving their employers in the apprenticeship programme and ensuring appropriate progress is made.
