  • Progress Tutor in Access to HE

    The Loughborough College Access to HE team is looking to appoint a Progress Tutor.  We are looking for someone to coach students in attaining their learning goals and to exceed their expectations in order for them to become independent learners who progress successfully.

    The successful candidate will carry out a variety of tasks including one to one and group sessions with students, monitoring and reviewing students’ attendance and achievement, and supporting a range of team activities such as welcome events and induction.

  • Digital Development Manager

    Within the Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Creative department there is an exciting opportunity to develop and manage the full range of digital and computing skills, media production and games development provision. The post holder will be making a significant contribution to the operational priorities of Loughborough College and its aim to provide outstanding quality and responsiveness in teaching, learning, curriculum design and delivery.

    The sector is changing and developing quickly, and is considered one of the important areas for growth in the next 20 years. Key to exploiting this will be establishing an innovative curriculum that considers current and future needs of employers and learners. The new Digital T level that Loughborough College will be offering in September is the latest step on this journey. A successful Town Deal bid will support the development of a new Digital Skills Hub on campus and the curriculum needs to be further developed to ensure that the college gains a reputation as a digital skills leader in the region.

    The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively across the college and will need to be involved with all day-to-day operations and delivery. They will need to be adaptable and resilient to respond to changing priorities and demands. They must have the ability to build positive relationships, exhibit strong leadership, have excellent organisational and administrative skills and demonstrate a flexible and professional ‘can do’ attitude. The team has an established culture of high expectations and innovation in its teaching and learning, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating the work of the team to continuously strive for outstanding teaching and learning.

    To be considered for this management position you must have curriculum management and development experience including the design and delivery of imaginative and innovative teaching and learning with proven experience of enabling learners to excel. You must hold a degree in a relevant subject area and managerial qualifications would be advantageous.

  • Elite Sport Assessor

    Salary: £14.40 per hour (Casual Hours)

    We are a highly successful College offering a wide range of provision from Level 1 to BSc Honours Degree Level.  We have new purpose-built facilities allowing us to offer courses based around the latest techniques and equipment required for industry demands. 

    We are seeking highly committed and motivated assessors to join the Elite Sport programme area. You will be required to assess and tutor elite sport learners, most notably as part of the Diploma in Sporting Excellence programme (was the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence programme). 

    As an assessor it is essential to have experience of elite sport and a relevant degree.  Applicants must already have, or be willing to work towards, a teaching qualification and/or an assessor’s/verifiers qualification. 

    We work with 14 National Governing Bodies to deliver and assess the DiSE programme, however in particular we have opportunities for applicants with experience in the following sports:

    •            Athletics

    •            Netball

    Working with a range of elite learners from a variety of different sports; you should be able to deliver and assess in a variety of settings ranging from conventional classroom based workshops/delivery, through to 1:1 reviews.  You will be able to provide bespoke, engaging and appropriate learning which links elite performance and theory learning.

    You will deliver inspiring teaching and learning to ensure all students are supported to succeed in these subjects:

    • A Level Business (AQA)
    • London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) Level 3 Finance (Certificate and Diploma)

    We ensure progress is monitored to reach target grades and all learners exceed aspirational target grades.

    You will deliver inspirational teaching and learning to ensure all students are supported to succeed in these subjects.  You will plan and prepare innovative and effective lessons; assess and give feedback on a regular basis; mark and standardise work in line with exam board regulations; engage with internal and external moderation processes; monitor the performance of students against Alps target grades; and provide effective intervention strategies to ensure the success of all students in meeting or exceeding their target grade.  We have adopted a blended learning model from September so it is essential that you have strong digital literacy skills and are able to teach remotely.

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate students with varied teaching and learning strategies with an emphasis on learners making excellent progress in every lesson.  

    To be considered for this position, you should have experience of teaching and assessment to a high standard to ensure learners gain the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their qualifications successfully. The team are looking for someone with practical hands on experience, who is proactive, has a vibrant personality and is committed to providing high quality learning experiences.

    Excellent communications skills are essential, and you must have the ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously. Practical experience would be ideal such as Film and TV videography, use of editing software, familiar with Adobe suite and Photoshop and a practical know how of video cameras and Media related equipment.     We have opportunities for enthusiastic and reliable cleaners to join our friendly team of dedicated cleaning staff who take great pride in providing an excellent quality service to the College and its customers both at the main college campus and the halls of residence.

    Excellent timekeeping, communication skills and the ability to work flexibly and independently are essential requirements. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage but training opportunities are available.

Right to work in the UK

EU citizens arriving into the UK after the 1st January 2021 will need apply for a Tier 2 visa to gain right to work in the UK.
