  • Accommodation Support Officer

    Salary: £10.36 per hour (Casual Hours)

    We are recruiting an enthusiastic team of Accommodation Support Officer’s to provide welfare, safety and practical support to students aged 16 and over in our 151 bed halls of residence and host family accommodation. The role will involve liaison with student residents, responsibility for security, safety, wellbeing and organisation of events.

    This casual vacancy requires out of office hours working including weekends and bank holidays on a flexible rota basis.

    Applicants should indicate which post they are applying for and they must be over 18 years of age, have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English e.g. GCSE grades A-C and will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check and participate in induction training prior to shift allocation.   • Contracts Manager

    Salary: £32,591 per annum (Permanent - Full Time)

    The Leicestershire College is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts & Governance Manager to lead a small team, reporting to the Director of Governance & Legal Services.

    The post holder will be responsible for managing the tracking, monitoring and compliance of all college ‘contracted’ provision. (To include subcontracting-in, subcontracting-out, all commercial contracts, HE, International and Apprenticeship contracts.)

    The postholder will also manage the newly-merged team, which handles complaints, appeals and data protection issues, while supporting the College’s governance function.

    To be considered for the position candidates should be able to demonstrate good leadership and be target driven and self-motivated. A detailed knowledge of both operational and legal contracting activities is essential as the post will involve interpreting specialised data, and problem solving on a daily basis. Experience of Further Education subcontracting rules will be an advantage. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and negotiation skills and can work closely with staff at all levels of the College.

    We have opportunities for enthusiastic and reliable cleaners to join our friendly team of dedicated cleaning staff who take great pride in providing an excellent quality service to the College and its customers both at the main college campus and the halls of residence.

    Excellent timekeeping, communication skills and the ability to work flexibly and independently are essential requirements. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage but training opportunities are available.

    The Leicestershire College is looking for two experienced and flexible Engineering Assessors to join our apprenticeship team.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Trainer/Assessor to work on a full-time contract to carry out Training and Assessing duties for apprentices and their employers in workplace. 

    The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

    •             Competency in the subject area

    •             An appropriate Assessor qualification (D32/D33/A1/TAQA, or equivalent)

    •             A qualification at a minimum Level 3 in the subject area

    The Higher Education Sport department is actively recruiting a Lecturer in Sport Science with a particular focus on the Social Sciences.

    This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a progressive, learner focused department that places innovative teaching, learning and assessment at the forefront of their professional practice.

    For this role, you will have experience of teaching undergraduate students within your specialist area of the Sociology of Sport, Sports Management or Sports Coaching. You will also have the ability to contribute towards the delivery and assessment of Qualitative Research Methods.

    You will have a commitment to student centered learning with teaching and curriculum design, underpinned by scholarly activity, research and/or experience as an applied practitioner.

    To be successful you will have a Masters in a relevant social science discipline and a good honours degree that is relevant to the post along with teaching experience in HE.
