International infrastructure organisation Balfour Beatty has worked with Loughborough College for several years, creating new opportunities for current and upcoming professionals in the construction industry.
For Lead IQA at Balfour Beatty, Anthony Hubbard, being able to continue working alongside studying towards the apprenticeship programme was an invaluable opportunity to expand his skills and develop professionally. He shared, “The Apprenticeship programme has provided me with an opportunity to undertake upskilling fully funded by the apprenticeship levy. The course was well structured with a blended learning programme of face to face contact with lecturers, and remote work. The College remains hands-on when I am working remotely, and I still feel supported and able to rely on tutors and staff for advice or help.

Anthony continued, “We initially partnered with Loughborough College in 2019 and first engaged the College to deliver our higher apprenticeship in Power Networking Engineering before expanding to support our management teams. “We have received a great level of support from the College with the delivery of campus-based learning that has been critical to the success of our people.”
The partnership between Balfour Beatty and Loughborough College has been an incredible opportunity for me to further my professional development. Through the CMDA programme, I'm able to pursue a degree-level qualification while gaining invaluable practical experience on the job. The campus-based learning has been instrumental in deepening my understanding of management principles and equipping me with the skills to take on greater responsibilities.
