The programme will cover approximately 400 hrs of elite coaching as well as 76 hrs of strength & conditioning support throughout the academic year. Off court educational workshops will be provided throughout the year with leading experts in fields such as Sports Psychology, Nutrition & Athlete Welfare. Learners will have the opportunity to be part of England Handball's additional qualification - Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DISE).
Learners will have an opportunity to trial for Loughborough University Students' Handball Club. The club has four teams, two women's teams and two men's teams. They compete in the Midland's Regional League, the English Handball National Cup, and the North Championships, among many others.
Loughborough College learners studying a level 3 programme (BTEC or A Level) are not eligible to compete in BUCs competitions. Loughborough Handball has a Men's U19s team competing in the U19s Boy's North League; this team is for both Loughborough University and Loughborough College students. England Handball will work with each player to access the most appropriate training & competition opportunities for their development.
