This Higher National Diploma (HND) has been designed to cater for the increasing demands of employers within the Animal Management sector. This qualification has been developed to broaden the career prospects of students and equip them with the tools to adapt to the ever-changing world of Animal Science and Care.

Content

Students will cover a wide variety of topics, including Animal Health and welfare, Business and the Business Environment, Animal Anatomy and Physiology, British Wildlife, Anthrozoology, Breeding and Genetics, and lots more. Students also have the opportunity to undertake an independent research project, and will benefit from hands-on industry experience with an 80-hour work placement in the Animal Management sector.

Features

Brooksby College is home to a large Animal Care Centre with an extensive range of animals, from exotics to aquatics, domestics to reptiles, and lots more - we even have our own on-site farm. This wide range of in-house animals allows our students to get first hand experience with a wide variety of species and setting them up for success in their future careers. Our Lecturers come from fantastic and varied professional backgrounds, bringing a breadth of knowledge and experience directly from the industry for our students to benefit from.

Entry
Requirements

48 UCAS points either from A Levels or a relevant Level 3 qualification. Students must also hold English, Maths and Science GCSEs at grade 4 or above. Applications from adult students are also accepted and will be considered on an individual basis, subject to previous experience within the sector.

Upon successful completion of the HND programme, students are equipped with all the skills they need to gain employment in their chosen area, or to continue studying to 'top-up' their qualification to a full degree.
