Content

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is a part-time course suitable for you if you want a qualification that focuses on practical teaching or if you are currently teaching and want to have your experience and practice accredited. You will need to be teaching, or have a teaching placement to undertake this qualification as there is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of practice.

The course will run from October to the end of June with weekly sessions held in the evening to suit your working patterns. Class duration will be 3½ hours including additional tutorial sessions to support your professional development plan.

You will be assessed through writing assignments, observations and group activities. As part of the course you will need to complete a minimum of three teaching observations.

Progression
Opportunities

The Certificate in Education and Training enables you to meet the minimum requirement for those employed as a teacher or trainer in Further Education colleges, Adult Education centres or Work- Based learning. Upon completion of the CET course you can progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.There is the opportunity to progress towards Qualified Teaching and Learning Status once you have completed the Level 5 qualification.
