National Apprenticeship Festival

9th - 15th February 2026

We are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week,
It all starts with skills

National Apprenticeship Festival is back.

The 19th annual, week-long celebration brings together the entire Apprenticeship community to highlight Apprenticeships' positive impact on individuals, businesses and the broader economy.

Centred around the theme “Skills for Life,” this year celebrates how Apprenticeships enable individuals to gain the knowledge and experience needed for rewarding careers, while helping businesses develop a skilled, future-ready workforce.

What's Happening

If you are an employer, potential apprentice, parent/carer or just want to know more, our Apprenticeship Festival is just the thing for you.

The Loughborough College Group Apprenticeship Festival will run over a week and is designed to celebrate Apprentices and recognise their dedication and achievements. As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026, Loughborough College Group will be visiting Sofidel, a global tissue manufacturer recognised for its strong commitment to sustainability and responsible production.

As one of only a small number of European tissue producers partnered with WWF, Sofidel demonstrates how environmentally focused businesses can play a key role in developing future skills.

Over the past 18 months, Sofidel has supported Loughborough College with Engineering T Level industry placements, with one learner now progressing into a Higher Apprenticeship. Toyota Material Handling is the world’s leading manufacturer of materials handling equipment, delivering high-quality sales and service support across the UK. The organisation is committed to creating a positive and inclusive working environment, with a people-focused strategy that supports employee wellbeing, engagement and long-term development.

For over a decade, Toyota Material Handling has been a sustainability leader within its sector, continually improving its operations and strengthening relationships with suppliers and customers. The company has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status for five consecutive years and has set Science Based Targets (SBTi) to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by FY2041.

Toyota Material Handling has worked in partnership with Loughborough College Group for the past two years to recruit Apprentice Lift Truck Service Engineers. This collaboration has created 22 vacancies in 2023/24, 16 in 2024/25, and a further 14 opportunities currently available for 2026/27, demonstrating a strong and ongoing commitment to developing skilled engineers through high-quality Apprenticeship training.

Melton Mowbray Market

Employer Visit - Agriculture

Loughborough College Group were delighted to visit Melton Mowbray Market during National Apprenticeship Week.

We greatly appreciated the opportunity for our Brooksby Principal, James Fryer, to visit the market and for allowing us to showcase Melton Mowbray Market as one of our valued employer partners. It was also a pleasure to highlight the success of their General Farmworker Apprenticeship, which plays a vital role in developing skills for the rural and agricultural sector.

Melton Mowbray Market is one of the UK’s oldest and most historically significant livestock and general markets and is widely recognised as a cornerstone of the town’s heritage and its reputation as the Rural Capital of Food. Operating as both a commercial livestock centre and a thriving community marketplace, the market continues traditions that date back almost 1,000 years.

Through its ongoing commitment to local producers and businesses, and its support for training the next generation of agricultural professionals, Melton Mowbray Market plays a key role in strengthening the region’s rural economy and food supply chain.
