As an apprentice teaching assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of a teacher to assist with teaching and learning and associated activities in accordance with school policies and procedures. This includes assisting with learning activities for whole classes, small groups and individuals.
- Supervising and supporting teaching activities to ensure the safety and learning development of children
- Monitoring individual pupil progress and reporting any issues to the responsible teacher
- Assisting with learning activities, preparing or modifying work as directed, and providing behavior management
- Promoting pupil independence in learning and social skills, reinforcing self-esteem through praise and encouragement
- Preparing and maintaining equipment and teaching resources for lessons and activities
- Complying with policies and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, and data protection
- Participating in relevant meetings and assisting with group activities and programs designed by other professionals
