Loughborough College was the perfect choice for Shakeela, 16 years old, from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, because the course matched her interests. Shakeela’s first year has been a terrific experience. "The course is very technology-based and fast-paced. However, I enjoy that because you never lose interest; you always learn something new. In my course, we have one online lesson, one in-class lesson, and a work placement day."

Industry placements are integral to T-Level learners, and show students that they can use the knowledge and skills learnt in the classroom in employment. Shakeela cited multiple benefits associated with her placement. She said, "It puts you straight into the working environment to prepare you for the work life. It gives you an edge over others as you already have industry experience before leaving education."
Student support has been vital to Shakeela's success. "My tutors are very understanding and take the time out of their day to ensure that you approach the lessons in a beneficial way."
Shakeela added, “The college recognises that education can strain people's mental well-being, and they take looking after your mental health very seriously."
Reflecting on the facilities available at Loughborough College, Shakeela shared, "There is a building dedicated just to T-Levels. The classrooms are excellent, equipped all with the latest technology, and there are many study areas throughout the campus for you to relax and study."
Looking to the future, Shakeela plans to progress on to a career in property management. "Having watched my dad manage properties for years, I have always been interested in the business aspect of it. I feel my course will help me to achieve that ambition," she said.
Shakeela strongly recommends the course, stating, "There are so many skills you learn from this course, and the support services here are exceptional. There is a real focus on helping students succeed."
