Annual Pride Event Brings Colour and Joy to Campus
Thursday 29th May 2025

We celebrated our annual Loughborough College Pride event last week as students and staff came together to reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity, acceptance, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Students were welcomed onto campus in the morning as the day kicked off with music, flags, and free badges handed out at the Main Reception.
The atmosphere continued across campus throughout the day with a colourful chalk display in the Quad, inclusive activities in The Hub, and the chance to get creative with glitter and temporary tattoos. Over lunch, students were involved in fun games, enjoyed rainbow-themed cupcakes, and spoke to local LGBT+ support groups offering information, advice, and friendly conversations.
Rounding out the event was the popular Pride Parade, which saw participants draped in rainbow flags, face paint, and glitter as they made their way through the campus. As the parade continued around the site, music played, encouraging cheers and support from staff and students looking on.
The annual Pride celebration is part of the College’s ongoing commitment to promote diversity and inclusion through our FREDIE values.
