Brooksby Agri Tech Centre Progressing Well Ahead of Launch Date
Monday 23rd February 2026

Work is progressing strongly on the major new Agri-Tech Centre development at Brooksby College, with construction advancing across multiple buildings set to house cutting-edge agricultural training facilities.
The project, delivered by Loughborough College Group and supported by the Department for Education, is designed to transform land-based education across the region while strengthening links between students and the farming industry.
Once complete, the Agri-Tech and cattle complex will include livestock accommodation, a state-of-the-art cattle-handling system, a viewing gallery and a machinery teaching and tractor-driving yard. There will also be three classrooms, two laboratories, an industry workshop, and advanced precision-farming technology.
A separate building will feature a main reception, specialist laboratories and classrooms, a learner resource centre, and a dining hall to enhance campus life and learning.
James Fryer, Principal at Brooksby College, said: “Seeing this development take shape marks an exciting milestone for everyone connected to our college community, and we’re looking forward to opening these facilities later in the year.
“This investment will give our students access to the technology, environments and real-world experience that truly reflect the future of modern agriculture, ensuring they leave ready to lead and innovate within the industry.”
Construction is progressing steadily, with recent work on roofing, framing, brickwork, pipework, windows, and mist-coating.
The development is expected to benefit not only students but also the wider rural economy across the Borough of Melton and Leicestershire, supporting innovation in sustainable farming alongside existing environmental initiatives on the College estate, including projects along the River Wreake.
