CEO Awarded Chartered Fellowship in Further Education
Wednesday 17th December 2025
In recognition of her exceptional commitment to education, Corrie Harris, CEO of Loughborough College Group, has been awarded one of the highest professional distinctions in the Further Education sector.
Corrie has received a Chartered Fellowship in Further Education from the Chartered Institution for Further Education (CIFE), an honour that recognises senior leaders who have made a significant and lasting contribution to vocational education in England. It is reserved for individuals with a strong track record of strategic leadership, sector-wide influence, and sustained success, and requires nomination by senior peers from outside the recipient’s own organisation.
Corrie Harris was recognised for her work in strengthening Loughborough College Group’s position as a regional and national leader in skills development, employer engagement, and inclusive education. This comes alongside the recently successful merger with SMB College Group and Loughborough College.
The Chartered Fellowship in Further Education is distinct from fellowships focused on teaching excellence, as it recognises strategic leadership, governance, and influence at the highest levels of FE.
Speaking about the award, Corrie Harris said:
“This fellowship reflects the collective effort of colleagues across the FE sector who are committed to creating opportunity and driving positive change. I am proud to represent a sector that plays such a vital role in our communities and economy.”
The fellowship assessment considered evidence of sector-wide impact, leadership effectiveness, and professional standing, supported by nominations from senior leaders in other FE organisations.
Also joining Corrie at the prestigious ceremony was Deputy CEO and Executive Principal, Heather Clarke, who was conferred as an Associate of CIFE after successfully completing the CIFE Technical Leadership Programme. The programme works collaboratively with leading experts and experienced figures across the sector to equip future leaders with the technical expertise, leadership capability, and personal development required to guide FE organisations in the current context.
Heather Clarke said:
“I am delighted to have been conferred as an Associate of the CIFE. It is a great honour to be recognised by such a prestigious institution, and to join a community known for its commitment to excellence, leadership, and impact. The opportunity to be among so many inspiring leaders was both a humbling and unforgettable experience.”
The awards reinforce Loughborough College Group’s contribution to the advancement of Further Education and commitment to excellence.
