A group of Electrical Installation students had the opportunity to attend the UK’s largest electrical convention, CEF Live, thanks to College partner, City Electrical Factors.

Held at the Birmingham NEC, CEF Live is a two-day exhibition and conference, held every two years for electrical professionals. This year’s event featured more than 100 leading brands, cutting-edge innovations, and invaluable learning and networking opportunities.

Students also had the chance to experience the latest technological advances from organisations including Wago, Wiska, and Marshall Tufflex.

Reflecting on the event, Level 2 learner Charlie Watson shared: “I really enjoyed the chance to engage with different manufacturers. It was great to take part in a wide range of trade activities and get some hands-on experience. We also got to reconnect with Aico, who delivered some hands-on safety training with us.”

CEF Live is held every two years by City Electrical Factors. An ongoing partner to the College, the Loughborough branch of CEF have supported Electrical Installation students with a variety of experiences, trips, guest talks, and manufacturing events.

Rio Vandra who is also studying Level 2 Electrical Installation said: “I found the event very welcoming and enjoyed how many of the manufacturers had competitions we could take part in. I especially enjoyed trying the Metpro speed challenge, putting together one of their cable management systems. It was an inspirational day.”
