Friday 6th February 2026

Loughborough College is celebrating as alumna Amelia Coltman has been officially selected to represent Team GB in skeleton at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. The Games run from 6 to 22 February 2026, where Britain’s skeleton team aims to challenge the world’s best on the icy tracks of Cortina and beyond.

Coltman, who attended Loughborough College before progressing through elite performance pathways and training with the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association, has enjoyed a strong run of form in recent seasons. She has earned multiple World Cup podiums and European Championship podium finishes as part of Great Britain’s women’s skeleton squad.

Reflecting on her Olympic selection, Danny Lee, Curriculum Head of Sport at Loughborough College, said: “We are incredibly proud to see Amelia don the Team GB colours at the Winter Olympics. Her journey from college sport learner to Olympic athlete is a testament to her resilience, dedication, and the support structures we strive to build here. She is an inspiration to our current students, showing what is possible with passion and hard work.”

Lee added that Coltman’s success highlights the opportunities available through sport programmes at Loughborough College and the strong foundation that can be built from further education into elite international competition.

Amelia’s Olympic campaign will see her compete alongside her British teammates in skeleton, a sport where precision, courage, and mental focus are paramount. With a rich history of British excellence on the ice track and Team GB bringing one of its largest skeleton teams to the Games, hopes are high across the British sliding community.
