Public Services Students Face Off in Annual Battle PT Competition
Thursday 22nd May 2025

Students from across the Public Services department took to the 3G pitch earlier this week as they went head-to-head in the College’s annual Battle Physical Training (PT) competition.
Undertaking exercises designed to simulate the physical demands of combat, students were grouped in their classes to participate in endurance drills, stretcher race, tire carries, and more. They were scored on time, teamwork, and resilience. Supporting students were also scored in how they backed their teammates, and team captains earnt points for their leadership.
Stuart Taylor, a lecturer in Public Services who arranges the annual event, shared: “This year’s Battle PT was a fantastic success. Students demonstrated the core values we teach in Public Services, and they should all be proud of the qualities they’ve developed over the last year.”
The winning team will be announced at the end of year Further Education Presentation awards, with winning captains collecting an engraved trophy on the day.
