Sports students celebrate Children in Need

Loughborough College based Sport learners embraced their creativity last week to raise over £1,800 for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.

Students and staff took part in a department-wide fancy-dress fundraiser, and from pyjamas and onesies to full sports kits, suits, and an array of imaginative costumes, the entire department turned out in style to support the charity, which supports children, families, and young people across the UK.

Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Sport, praised the students’ commitment and enthusiasm, sharing: “Our students never fail to step up for a good cause, and this year they’ve gone above and beyond.
“The creativity, the energy, and the generosity shown across the department have been fantastic. We’re incredibly proud to support Children in Need for many years, and even prouder of how our learners have come together to make a real difference.”

With donations still being counted, the final total is expected to climb even higher in the coming days.

The College Group’s partnership with Children in Need also extends to Loughborough’s Higher Education department, where Sports Therapy degree-level students put their skills into action to support BBC Radio Leicester presenters in a challenging 25-mile, three-legged walk for the charity.
