Three Lions Ace Jude Set to Take Centre Stage at World Cup Semi Finals Tomorrow
Tuesday 14th July 2026

England international superstar and Loughborough College alumnus Jude Bellingham is hoping to continue the squad’s winning streak as they face off against current World Cup champions Argentina in Georgia, USA.
Jude, who graduated from Loughborough College in 2022 with a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, has already made history during the competition, becoming the youngest European player to feature in four separate major men’s tournaments. Having also appeared in every match England have played in the tournament so far, Jude has earnt seven goals, including a decisive brace in the quarter-finals against Norway.
Jude’s history with Loughborough began in 2019 when he signed a scholarship with Birmingham City Football Club, a partner of the College’s flexible Elite Sport BTEC Programme. The programme, which works with professional sports bodies, provides full and partial distance learning opportunities to elite athletes in order to earn unique qualifications and a bespoke education with the support of a personal tutor.
Whilst beginning his studies with Birmingham and later, Germany’s Borussia Dortmund FC, Jude was supported by tutor Jason Ramsay. Speaking in 2023, during Jude’s record-breaking transfer from Germany to Real Madrid, Jason said: “Jude was an exemplary student whilst studying at Loughborough College. His ability to manage first team and international duties whilst finding time to complete his college work was a testament to his maturity and desire to achieve the very best in every aspect of his life.
“He met every deadline and target, and showed a real commitment and dedication to learning, even when he moving to Germany, and he achieved top grades in the process. All this, alongside his clear world-class talent means it’s no surprise that he’s one of the biggest stars in the sport.”
The winner of the semi-final match will go on to face either France or Spain in the final, scheduled to be played at the MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey.
Good luck, Jude! The entire College Group is rooting for you and the Three Lions!
