Three in a Row: Loughborough College Crowned AoC Sport National Points Champions

Loughborough College has once again demonstrated excellence in further education sport, securing the top spot in the Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport National Points rankings for an extraordinary third year in a row.

Topping the national ranks with a staggering 245.5 points – 83.5 points ahead of the second placed college – Loughborough College has once again proved victorious with triumphs across League and Cup entries, Regional Tournaments, and National Championships. 

This year's victory highlights the depth and consistency of Loughborough's sports provision, with student-athletes, coaches, and support staff delivering top performances across all disciplines.

Reflecting on the achievement of the students, Curriculum Head for Sport at Loughborough College, Danny Lee, said: “To be named AoC Sport National Points champions once is a fantastic achievement, but to maintain that level of excellence for three consecutive years is a true testament to the dedication and tireless hard work of the staff and students at Loughborough College. 

“This award belongs to every student-athlete who represented us this season, as well as the coaches, teachers, trainers, and staff behind the scenes. Their commitment and consistency throughout the year made this possible, and we couldn't be prouder of what we've accomplished together.”

The AoC Sport Points competition measures college sporting achievement and engagement nationwide over the course of the academic year. Colleges earn points across a wide variety of events, from league fixtures and cup competitions to tournaments. Points are also awarded for specialised event-based fixtures, including the Indoor Athletics Championship, and a range of sub-category rankings including Fitness, Cup Points, and Athletics.
