Wylex Brings Electrical Safety to Life for Loughborough College Students
Thursday 13th November 2025

Level 2 Electrical Installation students at Loughborough College were given a hands-on insight into the importance of electrical safety when Chris Alexander, Sales Engineer at Wylex, visited the College with the company’s impressive mobile showroom.
During the session, Chris introduced students to Wylex’s full range of switchgear, from 100A consumer units to 3250A panel boards, and discussed the latest safety standards and innovations shaping the electrical industry.
Students were able to explore the mobile showroom’s interactive displays and learn how modern electrical systems are designed to meet the demands of today’s buildings, combining reliability, safety, and sustainability.
Supervising Technician for Electrical Engineering at Loughborough College, Keith Large said: “It’s great to see the next generation of electricians so engaged and eager to learn. Understanding electrical safety is vital, and having Wylex join us is a great opportunity to inspire students who’ll soon be working in the industry.”
Wylex is a renowned name in the electrical industry, founded in Manchester in the mid-1920s. Now part of the Electrium Group, they are still leading the market with the widest range of consumer units in the UK.
Reflecting on his visit to Loughborough College, Chris shared: “A special thank you goes to the students and lecturers who took part with such enthusiasm, as well as to Keith Large from Loughborough College, whose support made the visit possible.”
The Wylex mobile showroom will continue its educational tour with Loughborough College Group later this week with a visit to Stephenson College, Coalville.
