Students and alumni of Loughborough College celebrated their outstanding sporting achievements this week as women’s rugby stars from across the College scooped three titles at the 15th annual Charnwood Sports Awards.
England rugby World Cup winner Lilli Ives Campion claimed the Senior Sportsperson of the Year award, recognising her high-level performances for both Loughborough Lightning Rugby Club and the national Red Roses squad.
England’s under-18 scrum-half Ashton Adcock secured the Junior Sportsperson of the Year title, following an outstanding year which saw her sign her first professional contract with Loughborough Lightning and earn call ups for England’s national under-18 and under-20s squads.
Finally, the College Women’s Rugby Academy celebrated a remarkable year – which included earning Gold at the AoC Sport National Championships – by winning Team of the Year. Their success reflects exceptional teamwork, growth, and commitment throughout the season.
Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Sport at Loughborough College, celebrated the College’s winners and nominees, sharing: “We’re incredibly proud to support the Charnwood Sports Awards, and seeing our learners not only nominated but winning three categories is fantastic.
“Their achievements reflect their commitment, the quality of our programmes, and the supportive environment we work hard to create. It was an inspiring evening, and we’re thrilled for all of our nominees and winners.”
