Loughborough College are proud to be working with Pathways to offer a number of activities and events which will help you develop new skills, explore future careers and more.

Creative Writing Video instructions released Monday 24th August Competition closes 5pm, 28th August Do you enjoy creative writing? Do you think you could write a winning 500 word short story? Watch our short video to find out how to enter. A panel of judges will then be tasked with identifying the top three ‘short stories. 1st Prize- £50, 2nd Prize- £20, 3rd Prize- £10
Art and Design w/c 24th August    
£5 Business Challenge Tuesday 25th August 09.30 This activity will allow you to understand what it is like to study business at a higher level. You will then learn to skills on how to turn £5 into a profit. How can you turn a plan into a business.
Virtual Travel Workshop Wednesday 26Th August 11:00-12:00 Are you interested in the future of the travel industry in particular aviation? This activity will give you an insight into the skills required and safety awareness of the aviation industry. You will also gain an insight in the development of leadership within the travel sector.
Virtual Hospitality Workshop Wednesday 26th August 12:00-13:00 Do you have a passion for the hospitality and catering sector? You will have the opportunity to watch our chefs in action and learn how you too can work in the industry.
Public Services Thursday 27th August 11:00-12:00

Are you looking for a career in the public services? This activity it will cover ‘5 year plan’, ‘dress standards’, ‘time management’, ‘lifestyle factors’, ‘money management’, ‘effective research’, ‘evidencing competencies’ and an opportunity for you to ask questions. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what it takes to work in the public services. A number of our lecturers will be talking through these topics, so you will have a chance to learn from experienced and skilled speakers.

Working in the Sports sector 27th August 11:00-12:00 Pathways - A Future In Sport looks to inspire participants to pursue a higher education and a career in the Sports Industry. The event will explore different career paths and ways in which you can make yourself stand out from the crowd and give yourself a head start in successfully progress in the sports industry. Using guest speakers and professional input, participant will be able to understand what recruiters look for from an individual starting their career in Sport. An interactive webinar with a competition giving one of the participants a chance to win a £50 Love to Shop Voucher.
Developing an online Game 27th August 10:00-11:00 Have you got a passion for games development or want to study it at a higher level? This activity will give you an insight into what skills are required to work in this sector.
Aspiration Thursday 27th August   Want to know what it is like to create your own business or hear from real life employees in a range of sectors? On Thursday 27th August, we will be releasing a range of videos for you to watch and learn from… http://loucollaspiration.org.uk 
An Introduction to Higher Level Writing for University Study Thursday 27th August   Academic Writing: The Basics
