CourseContent
The course consists of practical work and theory based units, which include:
- Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Multi-Skills Development in Sport
- YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing
- Level 2 Award for Emergency First Aid for Mental Health
- Child Protection in Sport and Physical Activity
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Health & Safety at Work
- Social Marketing
- Supporting Children and Young People’s Wellbeing
- Effective Communication in the Workplace
- Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace
- Accessibility and Inclusion in Digital Health
The course entails two significant work placement that you
will complete each semester with local schools/coaching companies and local
gyms/fitness providers.
The majority of the course is continually assessed, with the final assessment being based on portfolio work and practical observations. There is an exam for the anatomy & physiology module on the YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing.

Requirements
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths, and a Level 3 BTEC Diploma (or equivalent) at pass level
- Mature students will be considered based on their previous qualifications and/or relevant work experience
