Staff and students from across Caring Services held a charity fun day to raise money for a local charity.
Representatives from all Early Years and Health and Social Care programmes took part and raised more than £440 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
“We chose Alzheimer’s Society as some of our learners go into facilities where they will be caring for individuals with dementia – a condition which is covered as part of the curriculum in health and social care” said Sharon Geary, Health and Social Care Tutor.
Students worked together with staff to donate, plan and participate in ELF day, donating to not wear uniform, watch Christmas movies and win prizes and surprises in raffles and tombolas.
"I am so proud of the learners and staff for their kind donations and involvement” said Sharon. “We had fun dressing up, chatting and making people smile. Studying and working in the care industry, we wanted to raise money for a cause we all care about and are all delighted our efforts have raised funds for Alzheimer’s care and research"
