Role overview
The Adult Care Apprenticeship is designed for individuals who want to build a rewarding career supporting adults in care settings. This programme combines hands-on workplace experience with structured learning to develop essential skills in communication, personal care, health and safety, and safeguarding. Apprentices will gain the confidence and knowledge to provide high-quality care tailored to the needs of adults, including older adults and individuals with physical or learning disabilities.
Entry requirements
Foundation apprentices must be aged 16 to 21 at the start of their training, or 22 to 24 if they either hold an education, health and care (EHC) plan, are in care of their local authority

Programme includes
Regular formative assessment, development of a portfolio demonstrating learning and development activities with their application in the workplace and a work-based project.

Enrolment is roll on roll off all year round, primarily based in the workplace.

- End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) of choice is NCFE
Progression opportunities
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, candidates may progress to:
- Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard – Loughborough College
- Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard - Loughborough College
- Higher-level adult care qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care) – Loughborough College
- Specialist roles such as senior care worker or support team leader
- Further education in health and social care

This Apprenticeship consists of a mixture of blended learning in the workplace and optional self study time at Loughborough College.
