Want to start your career in engineering? QMS are recruiting an Apprentice Fitter for Summer 2026. This role will support the QMS service team by assisting with maintenance and repair of crushing plant equipment across UK sites, developing technical skills while learning from senior engineers, including day release to Loughborough College.
As an Apprentice Fitter, the individual will support maintenance and repair activities while developing core engineering skills under senior supervision. Key duties include:
- Assisting with breakdown maintenance, fault finding, and repair of crushers and crushing plant equipment.
- Learning and performing mechanical tasks such as extraction and rebuilding components, welding, hydraulics, and use of tools and lifting equipment.
- Working safely on customer sites and at QMS workshops, following all health, safety, and environmental procedures while studying towards Level 3 apprenticeship.
Requirements and prospects
