We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Electrical Apprentice to join our repairs team and train towards becoming a qualified electrician. The successful candidate will combine on-the-job learning with off-the-job training delivered by Loughborough College, working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
You will work alongside experienced electricians and other trades, gaining hands-on experience across a range of electrical installation and maintenance activities while developing your technical knowledge and practical skills.
- Assist qualified electricians with electrical installation, maintenance, and testing work
- Install and maintain electrical wiring systems, lighting, sockets, containment, and distribution boards
- Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams
- Carry out basic fault finding and repairs under supervision
- Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including safe systems of work and risk assessments
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment
- Develop customer service skills
- Complete job documentation and learning logs as required
Requirements and prospects
- Working on residential, or industrial sites
- May involve working at height, in confined spaces, or outdoors
- Use of PPE provided
