The course is tailored to individual needs and sessions run in a supportive environment with experienced teachers. The course is suitable for people who want to increase their confidence, progress at work, get a job or help their children. The course will help you improve your general number skills, eg fractions, decimals and percentage as well as working with data, eg calculating averages and working with measurements. It will also teach you how to use maths to solve everyday problems. At the end of the course there will be an external exam.
Taught by an expert team of lecturers at our state-of-the-art Stephenson College site, these courses help students to gain those all-important qualifications, opening up increased opportunities for careers and progression.
Number, Measure, Shape and Space, and Data Handling.
No qualifications are necessary, but an Entry Level 3 Maths qualification would be an advantage. Acceptance is by individual interview and assesssment.
Progression would be to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and could also be to selected vocational courses.
