This 2 year, full-time course allows students to engage in a significant amount of research within the area of Sport and Exercise Science.

Students on this course have the option to specialise in our Sports Academies; Football or Leicester Tigers Rugby.

This course is suitable for students who want to go on to study Sport or Sports Science at university.

Functional Anatomy

Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology

Applied Research Methods

Coaching for Performance and Fitness

Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise Science

Specialised Fitness Training.

Year 2

Physiology

Field and Lab based fitness testing

Physical Activity for Individual and Group based Exercise

Sports Massage

Nutrition for Performance

Sports Injury and Assessment

Research Project

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, Science and Maths

Progression

Learners may wish to progress onto a Sports or Sports Science related degree course. Alternatively, students may choose to progress onto an apprenticeship or directly into employment within the Sports industry. Employment opportunities include Sports Coaching, Personal Training or becoming a Fitness Instructor.
