For students 16-24 with an EHCP.

The Route to Independence course provides a supportive transition from school to college. This course includes a strong community focus, allowing students to gain hands-on experience by working on enterprise projects, budgeting and money skills, and completing placements in settings such as the community garden or onsite student cafe.

Through travel training, students develop independence and confidence in navigating real-world situations. This course aims to prepare students for further independence. This course follows the RARPA assessment guidelines for structured, measurable progress against individual targets.

Many students may be exempt from formal maths and English qualifications although some may do entry level Functional Skills alongside tutorial and personal social development to allow for a rounded development and progression opportunities.
