Who is this for?
The Vocational Pathways course prepares students for further education or the
workplace. It includes meaningful vocational sessions and a Level 1
Qualification in employability skills. Through practical projects, students
build confidence, develop literacy and numeracy, and gain skills relevant to
today’s job market. The pathway is also designed to allow students to build
confidence and have a successful transition to full time study programmes the
following year. Alongside Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths,
students develop the attitudes and behaviours essential for success, equipping
them to make informed choices about their next steps.
What does this look like?
- A personalised curriculum tailored to each student’s abilities and
aspirations
- Focus on practical life skills, work readiness, teamwork and
communication, confidence building, goals and aspirations and hands on
vocational experience
- Curriculum sequenced to scaffold learning across the year
- A Level 1 employability qualification
Progression:
- Level 1 or Level 2 study programme (M&E dependent)
- Transition into further education or employment
- Apprenticeship
No formal entry requirements but students will generally be able to demonstrate English skills at Entry Level 3, as well as a willingness to learn and progress.
