For Students aged 18+ with an EHCP, who have studied at Loughborough College for at least one year.

The Supported Internship Programme helps students gain real work experience with the support they need to succeed. This course is perfect for students ready to move into work but who need extra guidance to build confidence and job skills.


Students will be placed in a work environment where they can learn and practice important skills like communication, teamwork, and time management. With support from mentors and job coaches, students will get hands-on experience. You will complete a year-long individual placement, with the support of a job coach and at the end we will help you prepare and apply for jobs, or you could even be offered a job at your placement!

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements, however learners will need to demonstrate the willingness and ability to adapt to a work environment.

This programme is for any young person aged 18-24 years, with an EHCP, who:

  • Wants to work but needs extra support
  • Wants to try something different to studying
  • Would like to gain valuable skills as well as qualifications
  • Have completed 1 year in Further Education (on any course with any provider)

Please note: This course is aimed at learners aged 16-18 and adult learners with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) identifying it as their chosen course. Adult learners are encouraged to contact Student Recruitment who will look at alternative Level 2 courses or if necessary Adult English and Maths courses that will enable them to join a Level 2 course afterwards.
