EHCP

A Supported Internship is a programme for students with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) who want to move into paid employment. The Supported Internship Programme offers students valuable hands-on work experience, along with tailored support to help them thrive. It's ideal for those who are ready to take the next step into employment but would benefit from extra guidance to boost their confidence and develop essential job skills.

Intent:

• Prepare students with SEND for adulthood and employment.
• Half-term in college to learn workplace skills.
• Work placement two days per week, supported by a job coach.
• One day per week in college for employability skills, knowledge, and behaviour.
• English and Maths included at an appropriate level.
• RARPA assessed allows for personalisation.

Progression:

• The internship is the final stage of a student’s FE journey.
• Goal: achieve paid employment.
• EHCP concludes upon successful completion.
