Class of 2023 Celebrate Graduation at Loughborough Town Hall

Undergraduate learners from a variety of subjects celebrated their hard-earned outstanding success with three graduation ceremonies earlier this week.

Learners gathered at Loughborough Town Hall on Wednesday 13 September to commend their achievements in degrees across Business and Management, Sports, Healthcare, Engineering, and a range of Professional Qualifications.

More than 800 students graduated this year through elite partnerships with a number of universities and awarding bodies such as Nottingham Trent University, and Loughborough University.

Over 170 learners were treated to inspirational words of wisdom from guest speakers Kevin McCook, Managing Director of MacCook Retail, Paralympic gold medallist, Libby Clegg MBE, and Deputy Lieutenant Robert Allison DL.

Among the graduates, was the College’s canine friend Mylie, who walked across the stage to receive the UK Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver Award from Therapy Dog Training UK. Mylie has been working with the College since 2021, becoming the UK’s first further education college to introduce a therapy dog service to learners and staff.

The College’s long standing partnerships with universities and awarding bodies have provided learners with high quality learning opportunities and the chance to explore education with a flexible approach and emphasis on employability.

This year’s cohort of graduates will now go on to ventures in a multitude of industries, including catering, sports therapy, engineering, and aerospace. Graduate Ryan Deamer earned first class honours in BSc Hons. Applied Sports Science with Management and shared, “I started in my job in June as a project consultant, and already feel like my degree has set me up for a good future there. I want to thrive and be challenged, and now I’ve graduated, I can.”
