Good Connections Are Made at Loughborough College

Electrical Installation students at Loughborough College recently got to make some industry connections of their own.

Mike Cullom of Ideal Industries, the world’s largest manufacturer of premium-quality wire connectors, visited the college to hold a practical workshop with learners.

Ideal’s products are used in high-end industries such as Formula One and Aerospace, and after a short demonstration, students and apprentices got to try out the products themselves.

Joe Hadfield, who is studying full-time Level 2 Electrical, commented,

‘I learnt a lot about maintenance-free products and their advantages in the industry.’

Christopher Payne agreed:

‘I like the availability of different connectors from both a safety and ease of use point of view’, said the JTL first-year apprentice.

Supervisory Technician Keith Large was also grateful for Ideal’s time.

“As well as sharing their knowledge and introducing their products to our students, Mike also kindly donated some tools and connectors so our learners can continue to benefit from using their industry-proven products,” he said.
