Excitement is building as over 100 learners gear up to participate in the upcoming Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport’s 2024 National Championships this April. The tournament, which celebrates competitive sports across colleges nationwide, offers students an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage.
As the largest institution from the East Midlands at this year's championships, Loughborough College is poised to make a statement across ten different sports disciplines. Students will represent the College from cricket to table tennis, aiming to leave their mark on the competition.
College Academy Coordinator, Dan Jackson, expressed his enthusiasm for the event and the opportunity it presents for learners to test their mettle against top competition, sharing, “The AoC Sport National Championships are a fantastic platform for our students to demonstrate their talents and compete at a national level.
“We are incredibly proud of all the learners heading to the University of Nottingham to represent the College across a range of sports.”
Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager of Sport and Esports at Loughborough College, echoed Dan's sentiments, highlighting the significance of the championships in fostering a spirit of friendly competition among students. He added, “Participating in events like the AoC Sport National Championships is about the sense of pride and achievement that comes from representing your college on a national stage.”
The diverse range of sports in which learners will compete highlights the College’s continued commitment to providing opportunities for students to excel in their chosen disciplines. From traditional favourites like cricket and football to up-and-coming sports like boccia and pan ability football, there is something for everyone to enjoy and support.
Congratulations to all our students heading to Nottingham! We know you will do us proud!
