Loughborough College has been accredited to the Matrix Standard, demonstrating the high-quality services they provide to students.

The Matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG).

Following a thorough review, Loughborough College demonstrated they have continued to develop their broad range of IAG.

The external review applauded the College’s efforts to develop Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) provisions and to add the delivery of T Levels alongside their suite of A Levels, BTEC qualifications and vocational courses.

The review also praised the College for its specialist training for learners with additional needs, including supported internships, higher-level professional and technical skills development, and Higher and Degree apprenticeships.

The report stated: “(The College) has developed as an Apprenticeship provider and offers Adult and Community provision on and off-site and supports a number of international students. They are able to offer their own supported accommodation services on campus.

“In the last year, they have started to operate the Careers and Enterprise Hub in Loughborough town centre funded through the Loughborough Town Deal to offer careers advice and to support people back into work. The College is also able to offer a number of distance learning courses and a bespoke Get into Life wellbeing programme.”

There was also an acknowledgement of the strong sports and athletics programme the College participates in:

“With the College campus close to Loughborough University, they have continued to provide a strong sport offer at both FE, Academy and Elite levels and have recently secured the delivery of the NFL Academy programme for aspiring American football players alongside their national delivery of the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) working closely with individual sport’s governing bodies.”

Roger Chapman, Head of the Matrix Service for The Growth Company, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Loughborough College and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.”

Jo Maher, CEO of Loughborough College, said:

“I am proud the effort of so many at the College has been acknowledged.

This is an award recognising the commitment and hard work of our staff and faculty. It acknowledges their tireless efforts to continually raise standards and offer outstanding service in providing information, advice and guidance to our students on campus, in distance learning programs, or through other schemes and projects we are supporting in Loughborough and across the nation.”
