National Apprenticeship Week Celebrated with In-Person and Online Events | #NAW2023

Posted: 10th February 2023 - 4:43pm

Loughborough College held a series of in-person and online events celebrating National Apprenticeship Week. The week brought together the apprenticeship community to showcase apprenticeships' positive impact on individuals, businesses, and the broader economy.

The theme of this year's celebration was "Skills for Life," which emphasised the importance of developing essential skills for learners. The college adopted this theme across its curriculum in line with the new skills framework for Ofsted.

Loughborough College's Director of Strategic Partnerships, Laura Shepherd, said, "Apprenticeships are becoming increasingly popular, offering the chance to gain a recognised qualification, progress to a degree, develop professional skills, all whilst earning a salary."

The college is also promoting apprenticeships to students in schools through its Shaping Futures with Schools programme. The programme delivers engaging assemblies and workshops to educate students, teachers, and parents about apprenticeships and T-Levels. In addition, informational Pathway to Apprenticeship workshops are provided to inspire and inform students. The workshops explore several key themes, including an introduction to apprenticeships, application support, and interview guidance.

For more information on the events and workshops, interested individuals are encouraged to get in touch with the college's team by calling 01509 515461 or emailing apprenticeships@loucoll.ac.uk.
