Nine of the best heading for Tokyo
Friday 13th August 2021

Nine talented Loughborough College students, past and present, are heading for Tokyo and aim to bring home a haul of medals from the Paralympic Games.
The College’s strong field of elite medal hopefuls includes multi-European 100m champs Sophie Hahn and Tom Young; long jumper Olivia Breen; swimming legend Ellie Simmonds OBE and Paralympic champion Libby Clegg in the 200m.
The Games begin on 24th August until 5th September 2021.
They will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of seven of our Olympic alumni who shone on the world’s biggest sporting stage and came home with medals.
Five of our magnificent seven came home with silver medals including Keely Hodgkinson (800m); Luke Greenbank (4 x 100m swimming medley); Reece Prescod & Richard Kilty (4 x 100m relay); Lauren Williams and Bradly Sinden (taekwondo).
Daryll Neita picked up a bronze in the women’s 4 x 100m relay, while Luke Greenbank added to his medal haul with a bronze in the 200m backstroke.
