Toyota Material Handling UK Apprentices Kick Off the Academic Year at Stephenson College
Friday 3rd October 2025

Toyota Material Handling UK Apprentices launched into the new academic year with energy and enthusiasm earlier this term, attending a jam-packed Induction Day at Stephenson College.
The day was full of engaging activities designed to welcome and inspire the new cohort, with the highlight being a spirited team building challenge in which apprentices and their mentors were tasked to devise a structurally-sound bridge using only pasta and tape - a task that tested their creativity, collaboration, and engineering instincts.
Apprentices also had the opportunity to meet their industry-expert college lecturers and dedicated pastoral team, and explore the college’s cutting-edge facilities - including the state-of-the-art Forklift Engineering Workshop.
Amit Mistry, Technical Training Manager at Toyota Material Handling UK, commented: "We’re thrilled to see our apprentices begin their journey with such enthusiasm. The Induction Day at Stephenson College reflects our commitment to hands-on learning and industry collaboration. These young engineers are the future of the material handling industry, and we’re proud to support their development every step of the way."
Paul Dancer, Director of Engineering, Transport and Future Technologies at Stephenson College, added: "It was a pleasure to welcome our brand new cohort of Toyota Apprentices to college this month, where they’ll benefit from meeting like-minded individuals and honing their engineering skills.”
