Level 3 Art Student Amar Jobanputra is celebrating the news that his photography work has been accepted for an exhibition at The Holy Art Gallery in London.

Amar is a highly regarded student in his second year Art and Design course at the college and hopes to pursue a career in Photography after graduating.

When you learn Amar is visually impaired, his achievements in the field of visual arts are even more remarkable.

Leicester-born Amar said: “My sight has been restricted because of Nystagmus, but I have always had a passion for art and design. I’m delighted to have been chosen to show my work at The Holy Art Gallery and look forward to the exhibition.”

Lecturer Margaret Judge said: “We are all very proud of Amar’s achievement. To have his work selected for an exhibition is a great step forward on his journey towards a career in art and design.”

College CEO Jo Maher echoed those congratulations. “Well done, Amar! We are pleased your hard work is being recognised, and you get to share your creative ideas with a larger audience at the exhibition.

As an inclusive and diverse college, we strive to offer all students an opportunity to be the very best. Amar is a shining example of these values, and as a community of learners, staff and students, we celebrate these successes.”
