The Diploma focuses on performance using practical skills, knowledge and understanding and is an ideal pathway to a range of careers withiin the dynamic and ever-evolving Engineering sector.

Features & Benefits

Learners study in state of the art workshops that reflect what they'd find in the Engineering industry, allowing them to be prepared for entering the industry once qualified. All lecturers are experts within their sectors, bringing a wealth of skills and knowledge from industry into the classroom.

Course Content

Mandatory units include: Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace; Mechanical Principles and Applications; Electrical and Electronic Principles; Mathematics for Engineering Technicians. You will also choose five of the following as optional units: Engineering Design; Commercial Aspects of Engineering Organisations; Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials; Applications of Mechanical Systems in Engineering; Electro; Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Devices; Selection and Using Programmable Controllers; Electrical Installation.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths

Progression

This course is designed as a pathway into employment within the engineering sector or onto a Higher Education programme, e.g. HNC/HND or a Degree in Engineering.
