Thursday 20th August 2026

Loughborough College Group is celebrating students from across the organisation today for their outstanding GCSE and Level 2 results.
Students from across Brooksby College, Loughborough College, Stephenson College, and IGNITE Performing Arts have achieved remarkable GCSE grades across this academic year, exceeding the national average with a 98% pass rate, and 28.9% of English students and 17.2% of Maths students earning the top grades of 9-4.
These successes follow last week’s Level 3 results day, which saw hundreds of College Group students celebrate their exemplary achievements across A Level, T Level, and vocational courses.
Corrie Harris, CEO of Loughborough College Group, expressed her pride in the students, sharing: “GCSEs are a vital part of our students’ journeys to further education and employment, so we are incredibly proud to see how our students’ hard work has paid off.
“These results have been remarkable and are a reflection on the hard work of our learners, alongside the dedication and steadfast support of our fantastic GCSE teachers, who have remained committed to providing our students with the tools they need to excel.
“We are equally proud of the many students who have achieved collected their Level 2 results today. These vocational qualifications provide essential knowledge, skills and progression opportunities across a wide variety of subjects. Well done to all.”
Isabella Thorpe, Level 2 Animal Care student at Brooksby College was thrilled to pass both her Maths and English GCSEs. She said ‘I don’t even know what to say, I’m speechless. I am so excited – I never thought I’d pass these qualifications. The teaching this year has been brilliant, and I’m so thankful to my Lecturers for helping me to achieve. After doing my Level 3 in Animal Management I want to become a Veterinary Nurse, so passing my Maths and English was a really important step towards my dream career.’
Lauren Hunter-Greenwood achieved a grade 5 in her English at Loughborough College. She said ‘I re-took my English while doing my Level 1 Hospitality and Catering course this year. Passing has allowed me to continue at the College on the Level 2 course, which I’m really excited to start as I’ve really enjoyed learning to cook a range of new dishes. I’m excited to expand my skills and learn even more next year. My advice to future students who are re-taking Maths or English is to try your best because that’s all that matters!’
Many students from Stephenson College have passed their English or Maths qualifications whilst also studying for their Level 1 and Level 2 trade courses, allowing them to successfully progress onto higher level study or apprenticeships in their chosen specialisms. Plumbing student Trent Holman is one of the students who is progressing this year. He said: ‘I am really pleased with my results – I have just achieved Level 4 in English and Level 5 in Maths, which means I get to come back and start Level 2 Plumbing here at Stephenson in September.’
Students marked their achievements by celebrating with friends, family, and lecturers.
