Loughborough College Sports Academies Deliver Exceptional Performances at National Championships

Sport Academies at Loughborough College delivered an exceptional weekend of performances at the AoC Sport National Championships this weekend, securing seven medals and a host of strong finishes across multiple sports.
Leading the way were the Women’s Rugby team, who were crowned national champions, taking home gold for the second year running after an outstanding campaign. There were also silver medal finishes for Men’s Rugby, Badminton, and Women’s Cross Country, alongside bronze medals for Cricket, Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s Tennis.
Further strong performances saw Men’s Football finish 7th, Hockey 6th, and Women’s Table Tennis 10th, highlighting the vast range of the College’s Sport Academies.
In total, Loughborough College returned with one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals, an impressive achievement at a highly competitive national event.
Adding to the celebrations, Women’s Rugby player Scarlett Novakovic was recognised with the Fair Play Award, underlining the College’s commitment not only to performance but also to sportsmanship and integrity.
Dan Jackson, Elite Sport Manager at Loughborough College, praised the efforts of everyone involved, sharing: “It’s been an incredible weekend for our Sport Academies. To come away with seven medals across a range of sports is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes and staff.
“The way our teams conducted themselves on and off the field, capped by Scarlett’s Fair Play Award, makes this even more special.”
Danny Lee, Curriculum Head of Sport, also highlighted the wider impact of the success, stating: “These results reflect the strength of our holistic approach to sport and education. Our students are not only developing as athletes but as individuals, and competing at this level provides invaluable experience.
“We are extremely proud of what they have achieved and the way they have represented the College.”
The success at the AoC National Championships reinforces Loughborough College’s reputation as a leading provider of sport education and performance pathways, with students continuing to excel on the national stage.
