The aim of the course is to provide you with an understanding of different businesses and explain some of the key skills required to be successful in business. The course is a mix of practical and academic learning, with guest speakers and visits to different types of businesses.
The course is based on 12 units, covering core, mandatory, and optional, which include:
- Enterprise in the Business World
- Finance for Business
- Small Business Planning
- Promoting a Brand
- Principles of Marketing
- Introducing Project Management
Your course will be a mixture of research based tasks, presentations, online exams, and a paper exam. Both exams are marked externally.
Depending on your age, course fees may be waived. Contact Student Recruitment for up-to-date information. An additional fee of £80 applies to this course to cover trips and materials.
- Three GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and Maths (you will be required to study additional English and/or Maths if you haven’t achieved a grade C or above).
Upon completion of this course, there are plenty of opportunities for further study and, having developed the key skills that employers are looking for, you will also be able to consider entering straight into a career in the business sector.
