This course is designed to qualify you as a fully-skilled technician and develop the necessary knowledge and skills required for a modern vehicle technician to be able to carry out diagnostic and repair techniques.

Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Faults

Light Vehicle Engine Faults

Light Vehicle Chassis System Faults

Light Vehicle Transmission and Drive line Faults

Entry Requirements

3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above AND Level 2 Vehicle Technology (or similar qualification)

Progression

Students may wish to progress directly into employment within the Motor Vehicle Engineering industry. Past students have become mechanics, MOT Testers and Service Technicians. Others have started their own businesses or gained employment with dealerships or breakdown services. Alternatively, learners may wish to progress onto a higher-level course or an apprenticeship.
