Hospitality and Catering at Loughborough College has found a recipe for success as award winning chef Mark Fletcher joins the lecturing team at Radmoor Restaurant.

With over twenty years of experience in the UK’s leading Michelin starred restaurants, Chef Mark holds two AA Rosettes from his time at The Mere, a luxury spa and resort in Knutsford, and was announced Event and Banqueting Chef of the Year at 2021’s Craft Guild of Chefs Awards.

Passionate about sharing his expertise and developing the new generation of culinary leaders, Chef Mark has judged numerous awards and competitions for young chefs, including UK Young Restaurant of the Year, held annually at the Skills for Chefs Conference.

Chef Mark’s history with the College goes back for several, having first been involved with guest cheffing in 2016, inspired by the talent of the students. He shared, “The work ethic of the students and College as a whole is amazing. I’ve judged many competitions where Loughborough were competing, and I was very impressed.”

As a former executive chef, Mark is hoping to see students flourish in their chosen field and reach their full potential. “I really enjoy training and developing, and for me, this was a natural progression. What I have seen so far is really great.” He continued.

Curriculum Manager for Hospitality and Catering, Darren Creed expressed his enthusiasm for Chef Mark’s new appointment, sharing, “Appointing Mark to the role of chef lecturer is just superb. It’s great to have a chef join us fresh from industry with such a wealth of experience and skill.

“Having someone like Mark join us to train the next generation of chefs is exactly what we have been looking for, his industry experience and passion for education makes him an ideal addition to the team.”

The Hospitality and Catering offer at Loughborough College allows learners the opportunity to work in an industry-standard kitchen with international chefs and mentors, and graduates have gone on to high profile success in a range of sectors.
