Dream apprenticeship in sight for Loughborough College student after GCSE result

Loughborough College student Lucy Taylor is set to draw inspiration from her GCSE results today as she is set on the path to her dream career – as a tattoo artist.

“I kind of screamed when I saw it,” said the 18 year old. “I actually didn’t have a sleepless night because I think I’d worn myself out in the days before this over-thinking everything. But when I looked at that piece of paper … I had to ask someone else to read it, just to make sure.

“My mum and younger sister were with me and they are so excited. My mum posted it on Facebook immediately.

“Now I have passed Maths GCSE I can complete my studies in Art and Design at Loughborough College and then move into an apprenticeship as a tattoo artist. That is the dream.

“I had so much support from the College and particularly my tutor Sarah Rudge – she was really helpful and gave me past paper after past paper to practice. I am very grateful. She is probably the reason I passed.”
