Star results see Loughborough College A-level student take step closer to genetics career

Loughborough College’s Jamey Brewster today opened an envelope revealing star grades set to take her a step closer to a career in genetics.

Jamey achieved A stars in Chemistry and Biology and an A in English Language and is heading to the University of York to study Biomedical Science.

“My parents said they never had any doubt I would do well because they saw how hard I worked. I have mostly tried desperately not to think about my results because it wouldn’t change the outcome – then yesterday I was suddenly overwhelmed with a terrible fear. So today I am massively relieved and so happy.

“I have really enjoyed my time at Loughborough College. Every one of my tutors has gone above and beyond. And what I have learnt has had the added bonus of helping my Mum – she is doing an access course, hoping to go on to study for a degree in nursing. So she’s been coming to me a lot with questions on Biology!

“I am very excited about York. I am hoping to go into genetics research and getting these grades has secured me the chance to study Biomed at my first choice university takes me a step closer to achieving that.”
