Loughborough College learner Holly Bemrose was a nominee at last month’s Leicestershire Fire and Rescue (LFAR) Excellence Awards, held at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
The awards ceremony, held by the fire service to recognise and celebrate achievements from across the Service. With three nominations in each category, Holly made the shortlist for their contributions to the LFAR Cadets team. The Fire Cadets is a nationally recognised, long term education programme, providing young people aged 13-18 with valuable skills in teamwork, communication and problem solving.
Holly said: “I got to see all the amazing people within the fire service celebrate their achievements. I had a chance to talk to the Lord Left Lieutenant as he was there along with Callum Faint, who is the Chief Fire Officer of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue.
“It also gave me an opportunity to meet other people who are higher up in the services and would have probably never met if I hadn’t had gone”.
Tutor Sarah Donovan added: “We are very proud of Holly’s achievements both as Leicester Fire and Rescue Cadet and for being selected as the Lord Lieutenants cadet”
Congratulations on your fantastic nomination, Holly!
